20 Kohl Rabi Azur Star organic seeds.
Even though it looks like a turnip, Kohl Rabi is not a root, the bulb is actually a swollen stem that grows above the ground. It is part of the Brassica family. The Azur Star has a rich, blue-violet exterior which comes from antioxidants (anthocyanins), the same compounds found in blueberries and red cabbage
Azur Star handles cool weather well and actually tastes sweeter after light frost

Growing Instructions
Sow early February-mid July. Germinates at 10-25°C, undercover or in a heated greenhouse would be ideal.
If sowing directly into the vegetable patch sow 1cm deep, 10cm apart and 40cm between rows in a sunny position.
Once growing water regularly and mulch to keep the soil cool.
Harvest when bulbs are 5-8cm wide (tennis ball size) usually 8-10 weeks after sowing. The Azur Star variety stay tender longer than most. You can eat the whole plant; bulb, leaves, and stems are all edible. The leaves taste like mild kale. Raw Kohl Rabi has a crisp, juicy texture, and Azur Star is particularly sweet making it great for slaws.
