Microgreen health benefits, growing instructions and tips


Microgreens are the seedlings of vegetables and herbs, they are packed with vitamins, minerals and fibre. They are also considered a superfood according to science.


The benefits of eating microgreens in addition to your normal diet are the prevention of disease, weight loss and improvements to your mental and physical health and well-being.

Microgreens are a fantastic way of adding extra nutrients into your diet. They are super easy to grow and take on average 1-3 weeks before they are ready to eat. Also, you can grow them on your windowsill making it even easier and more convenient to add fresh home grown produce into your dishes!


How do I grow them?


Believe it or not, you can grow microgreens on moist kitchen roll inside plastic microgreen growing trays! It is that easy. Alternatively, you can grow them on a bed of soil or any other growing medium you decide to use. All you do is simply scatter the seeds over the growing medium of your choosing, and wait for them to grow! The only thing you need to worry about it ensuring they have enough water. If you want to provide the perfect growing environment then you would benefit from a propagator kit which includes a tray with holes for the microgreens, a tray without holes for bottom-water feeding and a propagator lid to keep the seeds warm and moist. There are also kits available that come with seeds which gives you everything you need (except for the growing medium) to get growing and start receiving those health benefits!
